TTC service changes for the Toronto International Film Festival

The 51st Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) takes place from Thursday, September 10 to Sunday, September 20, 2026. The TTC will adjust service in the King Street West area during the festival.
Service changes
Service on the 504/304 King and 508 Lake Shore streetcar routes will change during the following periods:
- Thursday, September 10 at 5 a.m. to Monday, September 14 at 5 a.m.
- Monday, September 14 and Tuesday, September 15 from 3 p.m. to 11:59 p.m.
During these periods:
- Westbound 504A/304 King and 508 Lake Shore streetcars will divert north from King Street West via Church Street, west on Richmond Street East/West, north on York Street, west on Queen Street West, and south on Spadina Avenue before returning to their regular routes on King Street West.
- Eastbound 504A/304 King and 508 Lake Shore streetcars will divert north from King Street West via Spadina Avenue, east on Queen Street West, south on York Street, east on Adelaide Street West/East and south on Church Street before returning to their regular routes on King Street East.
- 504B King streetcars will divert south from King Street East via Church Street, west on Wellington Street East/West and north on York Street before turning east on King Street West and resuming their regular route to Broadview Station.
- Stops on King Street West between Spadina Avenue and York Street will not be served by streetcar service.
Service delays
Customers travelling on 504 King and 508 Lake Shore streetcars should allow extra travel time during the following periods due to TIFF red carpet events. Streetcars will continue to operate along King Street, but service may be slower than usual in the King Street West theatre district due to event-related crowds and traffic:
- Wednesday, September 16 from 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. to 11:59 p.m.
- Thursday, September 17 from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. to 11:59 p.m.
- Friday, September 18 from 11 p.m. to 11:59 p.m.
- Saturday, September 19 from 11 p.m. to 11:59 p.m.

Planned subway closures
Line 1 (Yonge-University) early nightly closure – St Clair to College stations, Tuesday, September 8 to Friday, September 11
Subway service on Line 1 between St Clair and College stations will end nightly at 11:59 from Tuesday, September 8 to Friday, September 11 due to planned track work.
Line 2 (Bloor-Danforth) late opening – St George to Broadview stations, Sunday, September 13
Subway service on Line 2 between St George and Broadview stations will be replaced by shuttle buses until 11 a.m. on Sunday, September 13 due to planned infrastructure maintenance.
Line 1 (Yonge-University) early nightly closure – St Clair to College stations, Monday, September 14 to Friday, September 18
Subway service on Line 1 between St Clair and College stations will end nightly at 11:59 from Monday, September 14 to Friday, September 18 due to planned track work.
Line 1 (Yonge-University) early closure and full weekend closure – St Clair to College stations, Friday, September 18 to Sunday, September 20
Subway service on Line 1 between St Clair and College stations will be replaced by shuttle buses on Friday, September 18 at 11:59 p.m. until the end of service on Sunday, September 20 due to planned track work.
